Fluoramics offers three brand lines of products: LOX-8®, Tufoil® Technology, and HinderRUST®. While not all Fluoramics’ products fit into these three brands, most do. The products within each brand share common traits that set them apart from others on the market, allowing customers to have confidence in all the products within that brand line.
By definition, a brand illustrates a company’s or product’s unique identity, including its name, messaging, and overall perception in the market. It
defines the attributes that set it apart from competitors and establishes a distinct customer experience, often built around specific values and promises associated with the product or service. Essentially, it’s how a company presents itself to the public and what customers associate with that image.
Today, we’ll talk about the LOX-8 brand.
LOX-8®
LOX-8 is a line of chemically inert, high-performance thread sealants, tapes, and lubricants, primarily used in applications where extreme temperatures, high pressure, and harsh chemicals like chlorine or oxygen are present.
This brand is specifically designed to be oxygen-safe and can withstand both very high and very low temperatures, making it suitable for cryogenic environments.
These products are available in various forms, including thread sealants, tape, and lubricants. They are often used in industrial settings such as chemical processing, medical equipment, water treatment, and aerospace.

- Oxygen-safe:
One primary feature of LOX-8 is its compatibility with oxygen, meaning it can be used in applications where pure oxygen is present without causing reactions or degradation. - Extreme temperature resistance:
LOX-8 can function effectively in both high and low-temperature environments, remaining stable even in cryogenic conditions. - Chemical resistance:
It is designed to resist aggressive chemicals, including chlorine, acids, and other powerful oxidizers. - Anti-galling, non-hazardous, solvent-free
- Non-hardening: permits repetitive assembly and disassembly.
The LOX-8 brand began with the formulation of its most well-known product, LOX-8 Thread Sealant. The product line also includes oxygen-safe LOX-8 Lubricant (available in both an NLGI 0 and NLGI 2) and LOX-8 Full Density Thread Seal Tape. Other products in the LOX-8 family, such as LOX-8 LD, and LOX-8 Plumber’s Putty, have the same characteristics but are not currently tested for oxygen compatibility.
