Fluoramics prides itself on offering solvent-free and non-hazardous products, a necessity in today’s world. Solvent-free and non-hazardous products have several advantages such as reduced health risks and safety requirements. But what does that mean and why do we care?

Why are hazardous products bad?
Solvent-based and hazardous products can cause health and environmental concerns. Health hazards may include acute or chronic health effects. Some hazardous materials contain chemicals which are carcinogens, toxic, irritants, corrosives: these are agents that may damage lungs, skin, eye, or mucous membranes.

When using hazardous products, extra personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper ventilation need to be considered. Specific storage and disposal requirements along with domestic/international shipping restrictions also need to be considered.

VOC Content
When reviewing the safety of products, one should look at Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and flammability. VOCs are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects. Fluoramics’ products are all low- or no-VOC, which means they are safe to use in confined areas with minimal PPE.

Flammability
By definition, non-flammable means not catching fire easily; not flammable. This is again not only very important when you are working in confined or highly flammable areas but during storage and transportation. What does this mean when buying and using Fluoramics’ products? When selecting Fluoramics’ products, you don’t have to consider shipping restrictions, domestically or internationally (with the exception of our aerosol cans) or special storage requirements. Our products are not only safe for you but also the environment.
