Chem-8 is a camper’s friend.
A good friend and Fluoramics customer recently wrote to us and asked for a recommendation for a product to use on his RV hot water heater drain plug. He wanted to be able to remove and install the drain plug several times during the camping season.
Chem-8 is the camper’s choice for all clean water uses. Chem-8 is an inexpensive silicone sealant and lubricant that doesn’t harden so it provides lasting connect / disconnect capabilities. It is engineered to resist washout so it is ideal for water-based systems. Besides hot water heater connections, Chem-8 may be used on the white water portion of portable toilets, valves, hose connections, city water connections, plus shower and sink faucets.
CHEM-8 is an engineered silicone PTFE lubricant & thread sealant.
For the messier side of things, LOX-8 Paste is the ideal sealant for preventing leaks. LOX-8 Paste is impervious to chemicals so it can be safely used in connections on treated gray and black water tanks. While LOX-8 can certainly be used on hot water heaters and other freshwater water connections, Chem-8 is a less expensive option.
Chem-8 is available in a variety of packaging options. Two of the smaller options are a Net Wt 25 g (.88 oz) and Net Wt 113 g jar (4 oz). A little bit of Chem-8 goes a long way, so both are good options for sealing and lubricating your white water connections without consuming a lot of space in your tool caddy.
