People joke that a boat is a hole in the water into which you throw money. Use HinderRUST to take care of your boat’s worst enemy, corrosion, so the money hole will not get bigger . . . and that’s no joke.

In sailing,the rigging of stranded stainless-steel cables that supports the mast on sailboats is of particular concern. There is a great deal of tension on these cables to support and keep the mast straight…and even more tension on those cables when under sail. Those cables are swagged (crimped) onto a fitting that is secured to the deck.

Corrosion can weaken a stainless-steel cable supporting the mast. When cables snap and the mast comes down, it’s a very expensive event and there is a good chance of serious injury.

I worry much less about corrosion since I discovered HinderRUST. I use the dropper tip —HinderRUST Rust Stopping Lubricating Oil — on my swagged cable fittings. It’s a perfect application and has no waste. Drop by drop, I can see HinderRUST wicking down into the fitting.

I use HinderRUST in the aerosol spray can for my cast iron engine block, steel prop shaft fittings, steering cables, and sail tracks. The nozzle extension allows me to get into the tight places I could not reach before.

My sailboat is a 30 ft. 1983 Catalina. With proper maintenance and attention to corrosion, my sailboat is still going strong… thanks in part to HinderRUST.
