Sometimes the easiest things aren’t easy at all. Have you ever tried to change a lightbulb on your outdoor lights only to find the screws for the glass shade totally rusted in place? Or, worse yet, have the screw snap off while trying to unscrew the lamp cover? If you answered yes, you need HinderRUST in your regular outdoor maintenance routine.
Four years ago, when Fluoramics’ president, Gregg Reick, tried to take the shade off an outdoor light post to replace a light bulb, the screws holding the shade to the post had rusted in place. It was next to impossible to remove them. Rust was everywhere — on the screws, and in the assembly. Once he was finally able to get inside the glass shade, Gregg sprayed HinderRUST on the metal hardware after replacing the bulb.
A light bulb burned out again this past winter so in April he grabbed a ladder and a screwdriver and began the process of taking the cover off. What could have been an strenuous task was simple. The screws removed easily without shearing off.
With the shade off, he replaced the bulb, lubricated the assembly with HinderRUST again and reassembled the lampshade.
Job done.
