Stopping Leaks in Water Treatment Plants with LOX-8® Paste

Water Treatment Plant
Water treatment plants face many piping system issues including leakage and creep. Caustic chemical exposure leaves a facility susceptible to vulnerabilities in each threaded connection. Inadequate sealants can increase maintenance demands, as well as create a potential for contamination, property damage, and water shortage.
LOX-8® Paste, by Fluoramics, is now being used in water treatment plants as a proactive measure to ensure lasting seals in hypochlorite pipes and threaded joints to stop leaks. This PCTFE/PTFE paste is able to withstand hypochlorites, providing superior performance as a thread sealant where safety, aggressive chemical resistance, and extended service life is required.
LOX-8, already widely used throughout industries including aerospace, medical, cryogenic, nuclear, and other high-tech fields, has been found to provide water treatment facilities with a reliable, long lasting seal for each threaded connection. Oxygen-compatible and impervious to hypochlorite and chlorine used in water treatment, the high-density thread sealant, LOX-8, remains in place. It is specifically formulated for wet conditions and does not harden, which means it will retain its resiliency and eliminate the risk of cold flow. LOX-8 is recommended by Chlorine Institute members (Pamphlet 164).
Without risk of leakage, water treatment plants are able to eliminate the need for expensive emergency repairs that coincide with finding and fixing a preventable leak, plus they experience extended facility life, lower operational costs, and reduced potential for water damage, contamination, and waste, all of which contribute to the operational efficiency in water treatment plants.
