LOX-8 Thread Sealant is used in applications requiring an oxygen-safe, waterproof (or dry) thread sealant that can withstand both high extreme temperatures and high pressure. LOX-8 is a great lubricant for O-rings and gaskets in oxygen equipment.

LOX-8 is available in both grease and paste, specifically formulated for wet conditions, but can also be used in dry conditions. (For dry conditions, you can also use FORMULA-8 oxygen-safe thread sealant.) Both are high-density, inert thread sealants and lubricants expressly designed for severe high-pressure applications. LOX-8 remains stable up to 450°F. It is nonflammable and nontoxic.

The excellent lubricity of LOX-8 results from our formulation of jelled oil of polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), containing a high percentage of .5 to .05 micron polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

LOX-8 pipe joint thread sealant is highly recommended where oxygen, harsh chemicals such as chlorine or powerful oxidizers are present.

LOX-8 is odorless, noncorrosive and waterproof. It is non-migrating, remaining where it is applied. LOX-8 is ideal where repetitive assembly and disassembly are required.
